I just read that if Christians are bigots, then it is ok. Is this some really sick justification to terrorize a population of people that you don't like? And where are the Christians in this melee? Should someone stand up for Christianity? Or is it so commonplace to twist a religion that no one even cares?
I cannot understand the "New Christianity." Where it is ok to carry a gun into McDonalds, ok to wrap hypocrisy in a flag and a cross, ok to put signs in the windows in your home advertising the race of your neighbors children and no one stands up and says, :"Wait, this is not Christianity." None of these things fit into the 10 Commandments.
This is not a kind and gentle time in our history. It is not a humane time in the history of America. It is a chapter filled with guns, violence, and hatred. This is not a time to be proud. So what happened to Middle America? Is Middle America a myth? Or has it gone the way of the Golden Rule?
It will take the decent people in Middle America to bring us back to the center. Where everyone wanted to be from and everybody wanted to go to retire. It is where our children could play without fear and our Grandparents could retire and still depend on healthcare and medicare.
I hope sometime soon everyone takes a deep breath, looks around at what we have wrought, and realizes that it really is time for a change.
